Low Carb Cinnamon Sugar Donuts

These donuts are so soft. They taste just like your favorite cinnamon dessert. The recipe calls for ghee but you could use regular grass fed butter. Apple cider vinegar is an unusual addition to the donuts but it adds to the flavor and texture. You could make mini or regular size donuts. The recipe gives macros for the mini sized donuts.

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the almond flour, coconut flour, xanthan gum, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Make sure all the clumps are gone.
  2. In a separate bowl. whisk the eggs, vinegar, almond milk, ghee(melted), vanilla and swerve. Whisk until fully combined.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet. Continue to mix as you add the ingredients. Mix until the ingredients are well combined.
  4. Spoon the batter into the donut wells. Bake for 12-15 minutes.(If using regular sized donut pan bake for 21-24 minutes) The donuts should be a golden brown.
  5. Remove from oven and let the donuts cool.
  6. Cinnamon Topping: Stir the cinnamon and sweetener together. Melt the ghee. Dip the cooled donuts into the ghee then dip into the cinnamon mixture.
