A breakfast waffle without flour. The use of flaxseed helps to make it crispy. It has a pretty neutral flavor which can be made sweet or savory depending on the spices used.

Waffles for breakfast is something anyone would like. Even your pickiest eaters will enjoy these waffles with a little sugar free syrup.

Instructions

  1. Heat waffle iron to medium or desired setting for crisp waffle.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flaxseed, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Put eggs, water, and oil in a blender and blend on high for 30 seconds.
  4. Pour the liquid mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients.
  5. Stir until incorporated using a spatula. After incorporated let sit for 3 minutes.
  6. Add in the herbs or ground cinnamon depending on your preference.
  7. Divide batter into 4 equal servings and pour into waffle iron one at a time. Cook until done.
  8. Serve immediately with your choice of topping. Can be frozen in an airtight bag for later if desired.
