Just the sound of a cheesesteak makes my mouth water. Cheese, beef, onion, peppers, and mushrooms on a nice soft roll is one of the best things you can eat. This recipe is of course modified to make it keto friendly. It uses ground beef instead of steak and there is no soft roll of course. I like to add mushroom but left them out of this recipe since my son does not like them. Go ahead and add them if you like. You will barely miss the bread and will want more than one serving of this delicious classic. The addition of eggs does not make it taste eggy it just binds the casserole.

Instructions

  1. Spray a 9x9 casserole dish with cooking spray. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cut the peppers and onion into bite sized pieces. Crush the garlic.
  3. Add the ground beef to a skillet and cook over medium high. Break apart the ground beef as it cooks.
  4. Add the peppers, onions, garlic and seasoned salt to the ground beef while it is still a little pink. Continue cooking and stirring until the beef is cooked through and the veggies are soft.
  5. Drain the grease and spoon the mixture into the casserole dish.
  6. Tear the cheese into pieces and place on top of the beef.
  7. Whisk together the eggs, cream, Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce. Make sure they are well mixed.
  8. Pour the egg mixture over the beef and cheese. Place in the oven for 35 minutes or until the eggs are set.
  9. Let sit for 5 minutes. Then slice and enjoy.
